PT [Performance Trawler] Yachts were originally imported on the west coast during the early 1980s spreading in popularity to the east coast. They were built by two Taiwan manufactures Cheer Men Marine and Taiwan Overseas Industries. They were one of the few Taiwan imports without a lot of teak exterior trim. Native Son is Cheer Men and sports a solid fiberglass John Norek designed hull with two staterooms and heads and a full teak interior with galley down. She is very well maintained by knowledgeable owners. She is powered by twin Cummins diesels and is further equipped with an Onan generator air conditioning and Racor fuel filters. If you are looking for a trawler Native Son should be on your short list and is a must see.

AccommodationsStarting forward is a roomy stateroom with over/under v -berths drawers and hanging lockers.. Aft to port is the u shaped galley with front loading fridge/freezer deep SS double sink mircrowave and 2 burner ceramic cooktop. The galley storge is tremendous.To starboard is the guest head with shower. Uptwo stairs to the salon with fold up serving counter L-shaped settee with hi-low table 2 lounge chaiirs icemaker and liquor cabinet. The lower helmis forward to starboard and there are side exit doors on both sides of the salon. The aft stateroom feature a unique layout with a walkaround queen berth set at an agnle fopposite the master head with walk-in shower. An upholstered seat dressing table and storage lockers are along the starboard side.
